My Mom’s Chickens

The first type of chicken we got was a type of chicken that doesn’t usually lay eggs and such but it will hatch and take care of any kind of egg-laying creature. Recently we got some new chickens that were some Easter Eggers and some other types that I can’t remember the names of.

And here are some pictures:

This is my chicken, Hugger

She’s an Easter Egger, and there are two different colors of them. There is darker brown and lighter brown, which this one is. The darker brown also has a black stripe through the middle of it. The lighter brown usually has a darkish brown stripe through it. Easter Eggers are one of the kinds of chickens that can actually fly.

This is Everett's chicken, my little brother's, named Stripe

This is the darker Easter Egger. And now Everett’s about to talk:

“His name is Stripe, and he likes to go to sleep a lot of times. And he can fly.”

And here’s a video of Everett and his chicken:

(He doesn’t really fly. Only once they grow up.)

This is my big brother's chicken, a Rhode Island Red

She doesn’t have a name yet. The Rhode Island Red will lay eight eggs a week. She’s the oldest.

Gold!

It’s really blonde. She’s going to be an egg-layer like all of the others.

We also have two barred rocks, and they’re sort of black and white, and THE CLAWS! I was holding a chicken just then and when I was writing this, she was sticking her claws in my skin.
